The lake has been less busy since Labor Day although there have been people enjoying the warm days. Recently, it has turned a bit chilly so those staying here with only “rustic” heat are thinking about how to get out of bed in the morning and staying warm.
As you travel around the lake, there are only a few signs of Autumn in that only the Black Gum trees are changing color to their typical deep red. Most of the rest of the trees are still green.
But the birds are still here. Cormorants, eagle, ring billed gulls and loons are still here. They don’t leave for a month or so but it is always nice to see them.
