Since 1984, the lake Wentworth Association has partnered with the University of New Hampshire’s Lakes Lay Monitoring Program (LLMP) to sample and test the water quality of both Lake Wentworth and Crescent Lake.
The program relies on volunteer monitors who take take clarity and temperature readings at assigned locations as well water samples that are then tested for algae content, clarity, and alkalinity. Recorded data and frozen water samples are collected by LLMP managers and tested over the winter. Each lake in the program then receives an analysis in the form of a yearly report.
In addition to providing a snapshot of some of the more important water quality measures of the lake, the reports note trends in water quality over time.
The table below links to some two dozen of the yearly reports for the period in question; missing reports are expected to be provided by LLMP over the course of the 2014-2015 winter.
