Summer rentals - 1/27/2008 1:20 PM
It seems unlikely that the LWA board would be in favor of making rentals a formal part of the association Web site. In the past, the board has tried to steer clear of promoting outside commercial activity, whatever its merits (and connecting homeowners with renters is certainly a good and useful thing). If someone would nonetheless like the board to consider doing this, I'll make sure that it's on the agenda at the next meeting (which, unfortunately, is not until early June).
That said, it's perfectly fine with me if homeowners want to use these forums to connect to renters, as long as the postings are brief and straightforward.
(By the way, I would discourage anyone from directly posting their e-mail address or phone number in a forum. It's too easy to have it abused. Instead, invite readers to contact you through this Web site's Private Messaging feature. Private Messaging shows up in the list at the left side of the page, under Discussion Forums, when you log in to the site. After you click the link, you can select the username of the person who will get the message.)
