Monitor needed - 5/19/2009 9:00 AM After many years of service, out Crescent Lake monitor is ready to pass the sampling equipment over...Thanks for the help Jim! I am looking for a volunteer to monitor Crescent Lake every week or two throughout the summer. The person should have access to a boat or canoe, a space to do some very basic "lab" work and a small amount of freezer storage space. No knowledge of water chemistry is required, we will train and provide equipment. Time commitment is about 2 hours per sampling event (if you already have a boat on Crescent Lake). If interested, please email me at donald.kretchmer@aecom.com Maintaining a long term record of water quality is an important part of the protection efforts on both Lake Wentworth and Crescent Lake. Our volunteers make it happen. Thanks.

Monitor needed - 3/14/2010 7:55 PM Hi Don,

I'm interested in helping with water quality on Wentworth or Smith River. However if you don't get anyone for Crescent I know one of my daughters wanted to get involved so she might be happy to help with Crescent.

How about family activities on the lake? Do you think there would be interest in some things like lunch at the top of Copplecrown on a certain date? Or sand castle building on Stamp Act? It would be nice to have more family activites to participate in.

Monitor needed - 3/14/2010 8:13 PM Hi there:

Great you want to get involved in water monitoring. Do make sure you get in touch with Don. Climbing Copple Crown is not easy if you obey the rules as you climb from either near Moose Mt. or have a long trip from Brackett Rd. The trip from the top of the old ski area is discouraged with no trespassing signs. Sand castles on Stamp Act on the North Beach after the opening would be fine but might be better done on Albee Beach where those without boats could also get there. I like the ideas and encourage them but we need to make sure things run smoothly.
