I know fireworks at the lake are fun, but please be aware of a couple of things: 1. The sound reverberates around the lake 2. When the fireworks are very late at night it makes sleeping difficult 3. Some dogs are driven crazy by the fireworks, and it may take them hours to settle down after they stop. If it is possible to choose fireworks that don’t make a big boom- please do!!!

Remember, too, that fireworks contain phosphorous, the enemy of the lake. Phosphorous promotes the growth of algae and weeds. These are not things that we like in our lake and the less that we add, the better.
