Loon Census – Results

The Annual Statewide Loon Census was conducted on July 21, 2012,  from 8 to 9 AM.  At least 19 adults and 2 chicks were spotted on Lake Wentworth and Crescent Lake.One loon pair has two chicks and we need to give them space. Don’t get too close, use a “long” lens as was used to get this photo and be careful when you boat on the lake. You can run over a loon chick if you are not careful.
